Spoons, Spoons,Spoons..............

I thought I would show you my collection of spoons today. I'm home due to a snow day and decided to take some pictures (yeah! for daylight). I orginally started collecting spoons with names engraved on them for my Daughter-in-laws shower. I wanted to use them at the shower and plan a little giveaway using the names on the spoons. Here is a picture of the spoons in use at the shower.

Whenever I go to antique shops and shows I look for spoons with first names engraved on the handles or in the bowls. Most of my spoons are female names although I have a few with men's names and most are engraved on the handle.

They are not common, but also not rare. I am sure I could find more if I was willing to pay more, but I try to stay in the 1.00 to 10.00 and have been known to pay up to 15.00 each if the name is clearly engraved and the pattern is appealing. Also it would have to be sterling to pay more than 5.00 each.
